Frequently Asked Questions
If your question is not listed below, don’t hesitate to contact us. We are more than happy to inform you on any questions you have. Just contact us on Instagram.
Do I need any dance experience to join Cambio classes?
Not at all! Our beginner classes are designed to welcome anyone – whether you’ve never danced before or have some experience but want to build a solid foundation. We focus on structure, technique, and joy, making sure everyone feels comfortable and supported from the very beginning.
Do I need to bring a partner?
Nope! You can come solo, with a friend, or even with a group. We rotate partners during the class, which is a great way to learn faster and meet new people in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
Can I dance with my partner only during classes?
We usually encourage rotating partners because it helps you become a more adaptable dancer. But if you prefer to stick with your own partner, especially when you’re just starting out, that’s totally okay. Just let us know and we’ll respect your preference.
Do leaders have to be men and followers women?
Definitely not. At Cambio, we support role flexibility and believe every dancer can benefit from learning both roles. Whether you want to lead, follow, or switch – you’re welcome to explore what feels right for you.
I've danced before, should I join the beginner or open leven classes?
Our beginner program is highly structured and helps even experienced dancers strengthen their fundamentals. If you’re looking for clear guidance and systemized learning, we recommend starting here. Our open level classes focus on specific techniques, styles, or concepts, and are ideal if you’re ready to deepen your practice. Feel free to try both!
What language are the classes taught in?
Most classes are taught in English, but we also speak Dutch, Spanish, and Papiamentu. Our goal is to make sure everyone feels included and understood – just let us know if you need any extra support with language during class!
What should I wear to class?
Wear something comfortable that you can move freely in. Think loose pants, leggings, athletic wear, or anything that lets you feel good and dance without restriction. Dance shoes are great, but not required – sneakers or socks work just fine too.
What's the difference between a class, a course and a workshop?
A class is a single session, usually part of a weekly schedule.
A course is a series of classes over several weeks with a structured learning path.
A workshop is a special one-time or weekend event focused on a specific topic or style. What's so different about Cambio compared to other dance studios?
Cambio isn’t just a dance school – it’s a movement. We’re focused on building a community where people connect, grow, and inspire each other. We welcome creativity, collaboration, and individual expression. Whether you’re here to learn, teach, or co-create – there’s space for you.
How can I become part of the Cambio community?
The easiest way is to join a class or event! From there, you’ll meet other dancers, connect with our team, and be invited to community activities. We’re also working on member perks, jam sessions, and collaboration nights – so stay tuned and get involved!
Which dance styles do you teach at Cambio?
We currently offer classes in Bachata Dominican & Bachata Sensual with more styles coming soon. Our goal is to create a diverse space where different dance cultures are celebrated. Check our class schedule for the most up-to-date offerings.
How do I sign up for a class or course?
You can sign up directly via our website or Eversports. Simply choose the class or course that fits your level and schedule, and follow the registration instructions. If you need help choosing, send us a message we’re happy to guide you.
Can I try a class before committing to a full course?
Absolutely! We often offer trial classes or open days. These are perfect opportunities to experience the vibe, meet our instructors, and see if Cambio is the right fit for you.
What if I miss a class during a course?
Life happens – we get it! If you miss a class, we’ll do our best to help you catch up through practice tips, recap videos (when available), or recommending a suitable drop-in session. Just keep us in the loop.
Is Cambio for young people only?
Not at all! We welcome dancers of all ages. Whether you’re 16 or 60, what matters most is your curiosity and openness to learn. Everyone moves at their own pace and at Cambio, you’re never too old or too young to start dancing.
I feel shy or insecure about dancing in front of others. Is this normal?
Totally normal and more common than you think! Many people feel nervous at first. That’s why we focus on creating a supportive and relaxed environment where everyone feels safe to grow, make mistakes, and express themselves freely.
Can I join if I have a physical limitation or injury?
In many cases, yes, but please let us know in advance. We’ll do our best to adapt the class to your needs and ensure a safe experience. If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out and discuss it with us beforehand.
Do you offer private lessons?
Yes! If you want personalized attention, to work on specific goals, or to prepare for a performance or social event, private lessons are a great option. Just contact us to check availability and pricing.
What kind of music do you use in class?
We carefully curate our playlists to match the style and energy of each class – from classic tracks to fresh releases. If you’re taking a course in a specific genre like bachata, the music will reflect the culture and mood of that style.
